Attorney John C. Rozmus IV understands that a divorce is more than just a legal proceeding; it is the deconstruction of one life and the intentional framing of another. John is an experienced and dedicated domestic relations attorney whose multifaceted background brings a unique combination of engineered problem-solving, global perspective, and compassionate high-stakes advocacy to resolving family law cases in central Ohio.
Before entering the courtroom, John built the foundation of his career in project management and public service. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from the University of Cincinnati and managing large-scale commercial construction projects across the U.S., John spent three years serving as a Water Resources Engineer in the United States Peace Corps in Africa, where he focused on environmental health and water/food security initiatives.
Inspired by his time in the Peace Corps, John pursued a law degree and earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. His legal career began with a focus on international human rights and environmental law but quickly shifted to helping local families in need.
Since 2018, John has focused exclusively on domestic relations and family law, representing clients in complex, high-asset divorces and highly contested custody matters. His experience extends far beyond the ordinary issues of marital property division and allocation of parental rights and responsibilities and includes navigating sensitive disputes involving domestic violence, trauma, and abuse, forensic psychology, severe income disparities, intricate trust and estate issues, adoptions, contested child name-changes, non-parent custody cases, and the drafting and enforcement of pre- and postnuptial agreements.
John understands that family law matters are often some of the most emotionally challenging experiences in a person’s life. He is committed to providing thoughtful, strategic guidance while ensuring his clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the legal process. His approach emphasizes clear communication, careful planning, and strong advocacy both in and out of the courtroom. Over the years, he has built a solid professional rapport with many Central Ohio judges, magistrates, and fellow attorneys—relationships that help him effectively navigate the local legal landscape for his clients’ benefit.
John’s diverse background, combined with his focused family law experience, allows him to approach each case with both empathy and precision—helping his clients safely and equitably terminate unhealthy marriages while protecting their children’s welfare, securing their own economic future, and moving forward with confidence and clarity.
When he’s not in the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog, and can be found working on house projects, hiking, or catching an afternoon baseball game with his family. An avid gardener and home improvement enthusiast, he remains as comfortable with a blueprint or a spade as he is with a legal brief—always focused on the work of building something good that’s meant to last.
